Cuff as power and authority

I’ve been thinking about how the Cuffs relate to systems and institutions of authority and power ;  Cuff as a sign of corporate culture, Cuffs in formal wear as it relates to elitism, Cuffs specifically cufflinks as ways to show wealth, handcuff and so on …
and I found this definition of on Urban dictionary, where the word cuff is used to communicate ownership in relationships which I found interesting ..

  1. This is so important I feel. The closing down of the cuff in terms of capture (the physical) or realisation (the corporate you point at.) It seems to me that these kinds of cuffs are preoccupied with the past, with having done something, a capture of the then in the now.

  2. Yes, I really like the way yours and Halbe's comments compose. These two forms of support seem to go together - the cut of power on the one end, and the support of care on the other. I often think, as I mention above in my comments to Halbe, that the cuff's structural orientation has a hard edge.
