Ear Cuffs

I was thinking about other uses of cuffs in the English language. I find ear cuffs interesting. Kind of funny that we call them cuffs and we distinguish them from earrings.

Handcuffs are an example too, but they are more closely related to the original cuff since they are placed on the wrists.
